Klimperei is Christophe Petchanatz & lives slowly in Lyon.
Klimperei was formed in 1985 by Françoise Lefebvre and Christophe Petchanatz, the group conceives the composition of short, minimal and childish tracks reproducing atmospheres not far from the music of Erik Satie and Nino Rota. Critic descriptions of their music describe it as: " toy music, naive, minimal, neo-classic, weird, avant-garde, lunar, reversed toy box... "

Since 2002 the project is an one man band conducted Christophe Petchanatz.
Starting from 2007 Klimperei also performed as Klimperei et ses amis (Klimperei and its friends) following the impulse of Sébastien Morlighem of the label Jardin au fou.
The music of the group was totally improvised and the members through the years were:
Madame Patate, Pascal Ayerbe, Jacques Barbéri, Roberto Cavalcante, David Fenech, Denis Frajerman, Dominique Grimaud, Stéphane Obadia, David Passegand, Philippe Perraudin, Christophe Petchanatz, Sylvain Santelli.
In 2009 there is also the project Klimparag with Sylvain Santelli.
In 2014 he started his collaboration with Madame Patate.
